Can anyone point me in the right direction for information on enabling multicasting on VLANs. We have VLANS 10,11,12 and 13 and our ghost server is on VLAN 10. What needs to be done to enable multicasting across the seperate subnets?

Thanks.

for the basics..

just need to turn on pim and igmp

What model of switches do you have?

Our backbone are cisco 6509s and our clients are connected to 3560 series.

Given that hardware, just make sure IGMP and PIM are turned on. PIM dense mode is probably your best choice. Sparse mode is a pain to configure correctly.

Hi;
i've got a problem with igmp, my hardware are layer 3 switches catalyst 3560. the switches work in layer 3 with ip routing and no switchport on the interfaces. i created the igmp group in the 3 switches and when i make ping to multicast adrress it doesnt response the members. anyone could help me?

thank in advance

Cetel, you don't need to turn on IGMP on your layer 3 devices that have no switches connected to them.
