Issue: I am working for a multi-lot used car company. The remote sites VPN users are complaining of slow speed when accessing the DOS based inventory management application.
Setup:
Win2k3 Server (Domain Controler) at main office that hosts the DOS inventory application.
Main office has a static IP DSL connection with speed tested by speakeasy.net of 2075kbps down and 363kbps up. There are 12 users at this main office that access the DOS application via the LAN.
VPN routers are Linksys BEFVP41 model. Three remote sites with dynamic IPs connect to the main site via IPSec tunnels configured router to router. Each remote site has two users.
Two remote sites have DSL, one remote site has Cable internet (DSL not availalble to this site).
Questions:
How can I increase the speed for remote users accessing this dos inventory control application? Is it as simple as increasing the upload bandwidth at the main office?
I have tried my best to provide all relevant information about my setup, but please ask if I can provide any more detail. Thanks in advance for assistance.
