Hi All,
is it possible to play a game over the internet through a TCP/IP connection when you're on a LAN network.?

I tried connecting to their computer by entering their I.P but it didn't connect, then when I tried to host the game so that they could connect to my computer, I'd click "show IP" and it shown up as 192.168.0.98 which I know is my LAN I.P but I gave them my "real" I.P and they couldn't connect, is this due to my LAN. ?

are there any hardcore gamers that know whats going on, it isn't a firewall issue because I turn them all off, maybe it's some else all together but finding the answer to the first question will put me a little closer to playing online.

Thanks for reading.

Yup, you need to set up port forwarding by the sounds of things!!

This is very common so fixing it should be easy.

Also, you probably selected to host a LAN game.....you need to make sure you select the option to host an internet game.
