Is it possible to have more than one Outlook user for a computer. In addition to separate user profiles for email, can each user log on and have their own contacts, tasks, etc? Basically their own .pst file.

If so, can each user sync to their own handheld device? (i.e.Sony Clie')

Thanks,

Dawn

What OS is running on the PC? If it's NT or XP, it's not a problem, as each user has their own profile.
If it's 9x, you need to make sure user profiles are in use.

Alternatively, you can create multiple Outlook profiles and have the user select which one to use when Outlook is started. Select Mail from Control Panel, and click the Show Profiles button. You can then create as many profiles as you want from there.

As for synchronisation, you should also be able to create multiple profiles in Palm Desktop, or whichever conduit you are using (chapura, desktop-to-go, etc.).

Hope this helps.

It does help a bit, thank you!

You said that he can create multible user profiles, but isn't that just for emails? Or will that include tasks and contacts.

He is on Windows ME.

Dawn, Ekstensz was right. When you create a profiles on a workstation, each user has his own individual mailbox including calendar, contacts, inbox, tasks, etc. As he indicated, when each user logs in he is prompted for the profile to use. What's more, only the user who is assigned to the mailbox will be able to log into it.

You could use the netfolders option to share all the other duplicated info to the other users.
