How do I create a cube with different coloured sides. I know how to create a cube with extrude bevel with one coloured but cant get the other sides a different colour.

Any ideas?

After creating your cube, with the object selected go to the 'Object'-menu and choose Expand appearance option.

Then go again to the 'Object'-menu and ungroup a couple of times.

Now you can select each part and colorize it the way you want.

hope it helps

Make your life easy.

Turn it into a Live Paint group.

Expand the cube, as Carlow suggested.

With the cube selected, get your Live Paint tool and click on the cube to turn it into a Live Paint Group.

Now use the Live Paint bucket to color each face whatever side you want.

...to keep it "Live", make six squares, and fill each of them with one of the colors you want to use. Make six Symbols out of these squares, then extrude your cube. Go to the Map Art option, and find your way through. When you apply any one of the symbols to any of the sides, and make it fit the whole side of the cube, voila! You can turn off/turn on the shading and invisible geometry functions to taste.
