Current setup in our office is when someone calls in, they immediately get the AA (0 rings). If they choose to speak with the operator, it transfers to her.

Is it possible, when someone selects the operator from the AA to transfer the call to two extensions, or a setup in which when the first person is busy or not answering their phone, that it goes to a second person?

Thanks in advance.

You can have an Answer DN of the receptionists phone on a 2nd phone.

Thanks telemarv, but how do I do that?

Thanks for all your help telemarv, but I instead setup call forward on busy/no answer on the operator's ext and have it forwarding to a second person.

To Set Up An Answer DN

Terminals&Sets - Show
Show set: ___ - Enter ext number of the second recept
223:223 - Show
Line access - Show
Line assignment - Next
Line Pool Access - Next until you see
Answer DNs - Show
Show set: ___ - Enter the ext of the first recept
222: Unassigned. - Press change until it says Appr&Rng.

This will automatically put a button on the second recept of the first recept. Everytime the first phone rings the second phone will ring on their Answer DN button.

Keep in mind that wherever on the phone the button is assigned, usually above the IC and line buttons, you cannot move it.

Hope this helps. It really doesn't take much to answer someones question.

acct,

Your approach is the one I would have taken. Another possibility would be to set up a CCR tree and give the caller a chance to choose their operator (press one for the sales operator...two for the operations operator, etc.)

I also suggest that if you have caller id, that you might want to change your auto attendant answer to two rings. This would allow for incomming calls to be routed based on the caller's number.

Yeah but setting up the CLID tables is a pain in the rear, plus you can't gaurantee that the customer will always call from the same phone number. Cell phones etc. kinda mess it up.
