Question: We are using MTS with an application which will have an availability of 07:00 to 20:00 each business date. After 20:00 there are batch processes running to perform maintenance and backups which require the MTS packages to be unavailable to their clients.

I am looking for recommendations/solutions for disabling the clients from accessing the MTS packages. Any suggestions please!

Other than shutting down the MTS service (which is a bit like cutting off your nose to spite your face), the only thing I came up with was having each public method check the time, and if outside the acceptable range, immediately call .setabort

"having each public method check the time" may be a heavy work. Whether or not we can stop some services such as DTC to prevent user from using MTS packages.

If your batch processes donot need to login to function then you can logout and change the MTS packages to interactive user instead of special user.Of course you can do it by using MTS admin API.

Or you can enable role-base security on the package and write a small program, that will disable calling the package at 20:00 and anable it at 7:00.
