Hi, was hoping someone can give me help on the following question.

We have the backup server in Domain1 (NT domain, win2k server), MSX 5.5 server in Domain2 (NT domain, NT server), 2 way trust, Arcserve 2000, sp3. I did NOT use the domain1 arcserve system account to install Arc 2k MSX bkup agent on the MSX server, but used the domain2 system account msx was installed with. From what i'm reading, i should have used the domain1 account, after giving it perms in domain2 (bkup ops, admin, advan user rights....).

I CAN backup, but have problems restoring bricks, getting "e3150 unable to connect to network drive (drive=\\server\admin$, ec=logon failure)". Restore job fails within 1 min.

I assume this is a credential conflict, trying to connect to the msx server twice with different id's? How does one get around this with the current config without re-installing msx bkup agent with domain1 account? Can my backups be used at all to restore (bricks and the full priv/pub/dir) ????

Thanks,
Mike

Hi - does anyone have any ideas on this?
Thanks......

ArcBert,

Can it be your issue is related to this :

Entering in Security for Database Agent Restores.
When performing a restore of a database using BrightStor, it is important to note that two sets of security information need to be entered in after the restore job is submitted:
- Server level security.
- Database level security.
After submitting a restore job, a pop-up will appear to confirm security information. This window will have two tabs for database agent restores (one tab for the server level, one tab for database agent level security) and security information needs to be entered for all items beneath these two tabs. Both fields must be filled in since ARCserve needs to log into the server before logging into the database.
If either the database agent tab or server level are not filled in properly, restore jobs will fail with security-related error

hope this helps

regards
