I have created some forms in MSWord97 in which there are multiple yes/no check boxes, and some text fields to contain user comments.

It is the text fields on the form which can create a problem because users can enter large amounts of text. It is quite difficult to gauge the text field size parameter to correspond with the area provided for on the document. This is further agravated with a change to the form structure on entry of the text, as in some cases, the text and other objects below the text field are moved down, thus loosing the form's structure.

Can any one advise best practice to avoid these problems?

Thanks.

what "stucture" is being lost on the form? is it simply crossing over page break or is something else happening?

Yes, the size of the form increases and following fields are displaced.

It seems a pity that there does not appear to be any way to limit the text field actual size on the form; just to limit the number of characters the field may receive.
