OK, I'm Running XP SP2 on a T6520.
The systems seems to bogg down after runnung several programs and the only way to get the system back up to running standerds is to reboot.
I should know the answer to this but it evades me so I'm going to ask.
Total physical memory 1,024.00 MB
Available physical memory 626.54 MB
Total virtual memory 2.00 GB
Available virtual memory 1.96 GB
Page file space 2.21 GB

Is this a problem with system cache? or programs not releasing memory? and if so is there a way to force the system to release these without rebooting every time. Or am I just in over my head and don't know what I'm doing? Please help.

Some badly written programs may cause memory leaks which might cause a problems after running such a program for a while? Checking for updates, patches, or removing any such program, is one option.
