MSQ740 MS Project Import

We have a user who is exporting MSQ740 data to MS Project and updating it. We run Ellipse via Citrix Client, which has a time out set to disconnect the user after a stated period of time. Ellipse is left running in the background. The issue is that the user frequently gets pulled away from his desk and eventually, when he does return, Citrix has timed out and he cannot import the info that has been changed on the MS Project file. Has anyone else had this experience? I do not know of a way to save the project, make mods, re-import and update at a later time??? Does anyone know how the new Work Manager in Ellipse 6 handles this?

Hi.. if you got time-out problem in any MSQ programs..

Just click on :
- the top bar 'Tools'
- then Options
- then go to Timeout tab
- change timeout period

This problem exists at all sites that run MSQ740-MSProject in a Citrix environment. And, SOX requirements are making it worse. Citrix lacks the ability to "keep alive" a COM connection between 2 hosted apps that are idling.

The most promising solution is to create an MSProject macro that "remembers" the input details it received: Ellipse User ID, District, Position + Work Group and Schedule Date. Then, Ellipse could be re-inititated from MSProject, re-starting msq740 at the appropriate place, and presenting the user with an "Update Ellipse" button.

I'll give that a shot over the holidays and let you know how it goes.
