I used sysprep to make an image for our new PC fleet XP Prp SP2, and after reboot, I get a msoobe.exe application error box saying: the exception unknown software excption(0xc06d007e) occurred in the application at location 0x7c812a5b. If you hit the ok button, you get another pop-up box stating: The system is not fully installed. Please run setup again. I reboot and the same error keeps coming up each time. I have never had an issue with sysprep before. Any ideas on how I can sort this. I really don't want to create the image from scratch as it took ages!

I think this is to do with the Windows Media player 11.
Try making the image without it. Hope it helps.

The image has taken ages though. Is there any way around it? Safe mode doesn't even work!

No I don't think there is. I haven't tried it myself, but from what I have heard this does sort it out. Sorry for the bad news.

Mind you, I would normally use a third party imaging utility, such as Acronis True Image. Works very well.

ooops, sorry for the mistake in the above post. Just looked at what sysprep is for. God, I feel such a fool.

I use Ghost anyway. Took WMP 11 off and it worked fine!

Glad it worked for you. Ghost is OK, I just prefer the Acronis software.
