we don't run all our equipment every day, there could be 10 or 15 days between meter readings. If MIMS looks at 7 days to average the hours how is it going to predict when a MST that uses 125 hour cycles is due to be done
The Operating Statistics Profile may be able to assist you.

The statistic routine uses the Days for Average and Maximum Days values when calculating a daily average for an item of equipment.
These fields are used as follows:
The Maximum Days value determines whether operating statistics are sufficiently up to date to allow a daily average to be calculated for the item. The routine finds the most recent operating statistics record for the item. It then checks that this record is eligible, by comparing the date of the record against today's date, less the Maximum Days value.
The Days for Average value determines the number of days over which the daily average is to be calculated for an item of equipment. The routine finds the most recent operating statistic record for the item. The routine then calculates a date at which to begin searching for the next record by subtracting the Days for Average from the date of the most recent record.

Could you not increase the number of days entered in the <Days for average> field from 7 to something higher? Maybe you could increase it to the 10 or 15 day figure quoted in your post. It sounds as though you must be using this field in your operating statistics profiles.
Alternatively, you may want to remove the values from this field. I work for a company that uses engine hour operating statistics to generate MST's. None of our operating statistics profiles apply averaging rules. This allows us to generate mst's from simple cumulative engine hours - is this an option for your business? I'd be interested to know what benefits the averaging option gives to users. I've never had much call to look at it before.
