I am having quite a few problems with our Win2K server running Exchange at the moment.

Whilst looking through the application log file, I noticed the following error message:

Microsoft Exchange System Attendant failed to read the membership of group 'cn=Exchange Domain Servers,cn=Users,dc=amsystems,dc=co,dc=uk'. Error code '80072030'.

Please check whether the local computer is a member of the group. If it is not, stop all the Microsoft Exchange services, add the local computer into the group manually and restart all the services.

The machine is part of the Exchange Domain Servers group, and our DNS server, also running on the same Win2K machine has records for the server.

Anyone any ideas?

Just check the system log and found this entry as well:

Registration of the DNS record '14657d06-0181-4e8e-bd0b-38c908027375._msdcs.amsystems.co.uk. 600 IN CNAME server1.amsystems.co.uk.' failed with the following error:
DNS name does not exist.

Any ideas? On what's happening?

Answer to your first problem is listed in MS website under article Q294176

Greg

Thank you for the response, I have now moved the Exchange Domain Admin Servers group back to the users group and will monitor the application log.
