Hi, Friend

I know that you are windows 95 networking expert. I hope you can help me about this situation.

I have a peer to peer networking using only windows 95 ( 10 computers). I need to print from MSDOS programs using a workstation computers to a remote printer. when I want to print from MSDOS program, I have to close the MSDOS program and remote printer starts printing the document.

Do you have a good idea about skip this situation ? I dont want to close the MSDOS program everytime.

have you captured the remote network port so that the networked PC's think its attached to LPT1 ? you can do this in the printer properties on each PC.

Rob If in doubt get the Ball Pein Hammer out

Hi,

Also if still a problem.

Go the properties of the printer, select the details tab and click on port settings.

Deselect both tick boxes. We support some DOS printing programs, and I have seen this fix many printing problems.

Also to check if is the printer or the software, after it has been captuered to a LPT port drop out to a dos box and type

DIR > LPTn where n is the number of the LPT port captured, this should print out a dir listing.
