Hi All

I've programmed a cs1k 7.5 for a new cct and Pri card, but i cant get the DCH to come up.

If I stat the MSDL is states MSDL MAN DSBL, I have got the trunks up into a MBSY state but when I try do a ENL MSDL X X X FDL command it just hangs! nothing.

There are other working PRI cards on the system and this shelf already has a working card, they use their phones 24hr so I cant just INI the system.

Any ideas please would be a great help.

Thanks in advance

Is this a new MSDL card? If so have you set the dials on it for the correct DNUM?

I would also just try the ENL MSDL X command without the FDL if it is a first time card. It will FDL all by itself.

No it's a mg_card so no DNUM on the ADAN.

What do you mean it's an mg card? You mean a TMDI card?

Thanks KCFLHRC. I have tried the RST and I do at least get an OK back, but still hangs when I try and ENL

If it's not an MSDL card then you shouldn't be using the MSDL commands.

What I meant to say is that when I built DCH in ld17 there is no DNUM option:

The card is NTBK50 with daughter board.

What kind of daughter board is on that card? Part # ??

I've left site now. But I believe it's a ntbk51

That's what it should be, however you can use an NTAK93 also, but it's not configured as MSDL. Reading through the books as we speak. There are some dip switches on that NTBK50 also for a NTAK93 if that's what your using.

That was my next port of call. I set them as pri not dass but it may be something I've overlooked.

Those switches are only applicable to the NTAK93, not the NTBK51

what is the model of the PRI card you are using? Is this the first time you have done this ? (sorry if its a bit insulting)and if you leave the switch what does it eventually return (error code) I have left one for next to 20 mins before droping out. And can you print the config from start to finish.

Remember if it doesn't work hit it harder

Have you set up your CEQU correctly?. Something like this below?.

The most important thing is that you need to set clocking up if it's the first PRI card in that cabinet!. This also means checking the dip switch and having the clocking card as well as the D Channel card.

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

Thank you to all for your replies. I was back on site today to finish the installation and got the MSDL and trunks all up and working. My programming was spot on I just overlooked one small thing….. DIP SWITCH! Basically I’d set dip switch 1 wrong. As per the docs I changed it to DPNSS/DASS2 even though I was using PRI2. It came up as expected. Every day is a school day!

For the U.K., use DPNSS1 mode. For all other countries, use Q.931 mode.
Switch SW1
Switch Down (On)
SW 1-2 DPNSS1/DASS2

Switch SW2 - Carrier impedance configuration
Coaxial cable is usually associated
with the 751/2 setting.
753/4 Down (On)

Switch SW4 - Carrier shield grounding
This switch supports the selective grounding of Tx and Rx pairs of carrier
cable. Closing the switch (down position) applies Frame Ground (FGND) to
the coaxial carrier cable shield, creating a 751/2 unbalanced configuration.
This applies only to the NTBK05CA cable.

I was using coax so set as:

SW 4-1 Rx—FGND Rx—OPEN - Down (on)
SW 4-2 Tx—FGND Tx—OFF - up (off)
