MSDL Failure to Start

Hi All,

I have a problem with a rls 4 CS1000S system. I am trying to install a new ISDN30e circuit with a NTBK50AA PRI, and an on board DCH card. the circuit is configured for slot 11, and is installed in slot 1 of the Media Gateway.

After the configuration of my circuit, i try to enable and FDL the MSDL, and encounter the following error,

MSDL0207 x appl y z
An error was encountered when downloading an application to MSDL x.
Where: x = device number (LD 17 DNUM) and appl = the application name.
(y and z are for design use only)
Refer to the accompanying SDL error message for the exact error reason.
The entire enable sequence has been aborted.
Severity: Critical

I have had the PRI card tested in another system, and the card starts OK.

Anyone have any ideas of where my problem may be???

also make sure the device number switch setting is correct on the card, and you have it in the programed group

could be TMDI is yes but you do not have the TMDI card.

Try rebuilding T1 and be sure to respond no to TMDI
 
Also make sure that the card type is MSDL in the configuration.
 
Understand but you tell it that in LD 17.
 
Not if your using the NTAK93, that does a dchannel as well. Even if you answer yes to msdl. there is also a dip switch to tell the card that the dchannel is a daughter brd or seperate card.
 
slot 11 should have been the key for me, hasn't been very long ago nortel said no pri/t1's past slot 10, may have changed, enl tmdi 11 (ld 96) ?

Yep they opened up the expansion cabinets, I haven't put one in there yet.
 
Hi All,

Appears that there was a faulty batch of SW daughterboards sent out, so i had to reload the software onto the system before it would download my MSDL... its Good old Nortel!!!

10 years ago, i was installing 81's non stop. it was rare to have even a bad set, new out of the box. now it's just a rare to get a complete shipment without a bad part. 10 years ago when you got nortel tech support, the problem was solved. that has changed almost as quickly. i've been told that i needed an ini to activate a patch, i didn't and knew why, at a hosp a restart is a major concern. before they broke the company up, and sent their stock into the tank, it was a lot better. the board that made that deceison gave themsleves a major bonus to offset the lost value of their stock... way to go nortel is an under statement
