What is the 2000 equilvalent of this, I need to be able to edit what starts up in 2000, is there a 2000 command for this??

do a search on google for windowss 2000 msconfig and you should be able to find the XP version.

I just edit startup folder and registry manually.
The following key is where most of your programs are set to start. Just make sure you don't delete something you need!
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

That's odd. Going to start --> run and typing msconfig works fine for me in W2K.

Yep I upgraded from win98, thx for all the help everyone, I have got it and stopped the hundreds of useless time consuming programs from loading everytime I boot up ;)
