Hey,
I have a win XP machine that acts as the server sharing the files. I have a win 2000 machine (office 2000) that accesses the shared files. PowerPoint and Excel seem to be able to open the shared files with no problems, but when I try to access the shared files with word I receive system error &H800040005, out of memory error. Both machines have plenty of memory(256ram) and hard drive space. The only thing I can find on my searches is that the files may be corrupted, but this is happening with too many word shared files.
Note: this only happens to shared files, not with local word files.
Has anybody had the same problem and knows of a fix.
thanks
