Hi I just installed MS Server 2003 SBS for the first time. I can see the workstations I have connect to the domain, which I had to add by adding (.local) to the end of the domain name because it was not able to resolve it by the domain name itself. However I've also noticed on the workstations that all profiles that are being created on the local computers are under the name scheme of (usersname.domain), I've never seen this with MS Server 2000. I always saw it with just the users name. I'm pretty sure I have something misconfigured under my DNS properties or DC properties. If anyone has any suggestion I would gratefully appreciate it. Thank you

if the username already exists in documents and settings it adds the .domain to it, at least in my domain it does.
just check you DNS and DHCP make sure it's all working.

No I don't have the name created but it uses that look as if it did. Anything els eyou can recommend. I'm pretty sure the DNS is correct.

I found the solution to the problem. I had the FQDN incorrectly named. Instead of just the domain I had domain.local. This is why it kept creating account under that name scheme. I renamed it to just the domain name and restarted the server and had all workstations restart. Thank you for your help.
