Question as a user of MS Project 2000 I have set up a project template that has been distributed and is being used by numerous project managers to the same standard as the original template. If i want to update the template with changes is there an easy way of sending this out to all project managers to transfer information into the new template.

The obvious answer is to copy and paste each project info into the new template but is there a more efficient way of transfering all information quickly???

All responses much appeciated!!!

A template is a starting point. Once someone has used the template to create a new project schedule and then gone on to make modifications to that project schedule there is no way to re-overlay any changes you made to the original template.

(How could there be? We're talking about two separate files, after all.)

I agree with PDQBach regarding updating existing schedules when their base template has changed, but your post confuses me where you are asking about transfering updated information into the new template.

We have a system (see signature) that allows you to build dynamic templates that can incorporate multiple scenarios and can be scaled according to user defined criteria. This allows you to build a standard template based upon many factors (or inputs).
