MS Project fails to update date fields.

This is with an existing projects with there are no fixed dates.

I've noticed this in 2 circumstances:
First when entering %cent complete. This does not change any dates.
Second when changing the date of a task that was due prior to "now" but which is being rescheduled for a few days from "now". Again in some unknown circumstances, Project does not reschedule dependent future tasks.
We've checked dependencies and there are no other fixed dates.

Has anyone seen these problems and does anyone know of a solution.

As I already told you in the other thread where you posted this question:

%Complete has absolute nothing to do with dates. Therefore, entering a value in the %Complete cell will not change the dates. You should not expect it to do so.

As for your question about unknown circumstances ... When the circumstances are unknown (and you haven't given any specific data in your description) then the solution will be unknown.

Tools / Options --- Calculation Tab. THere are three checkboxes, one of those should get you what you want. You will also need to enter a status date in the Project Information box.
