This is the 3rd forum I'll have posted this topic in. I've received no responses in the other two. SURELY this is that difficult.
Here's my deal. I'm pulling reports for management showing what MS
patches we have left to patch and on which machine(s). Now I see some
machines that are lacking some older patches. I went to the machines,
manually installed the patches, and ran hardware inventory (both
locally and from the SMS server).
I start resource explorer, browse to the software updates section, and
the patches I just installed still show as applicable. Why? What must
I do if I want to manually install a patch and have it show (very
quickly) in SMS that the patch has been applied?
