Hi Experts

I have just formated my hd and now I am trying to restore
my rules and my accounts from outlook express on a symantec
ghost image.

How do I best do this?

Help me out please..

I have windows xp homed edition...

Ok I tried it now but it only imports the messages and not
the rules or the accounts .....
How to get it all restored?

Well I have my outlook express and my whole system drive
on a symantec norton ghost image so how can I use the reg-
edit tool on that when it is placed on an image on an
external harddisk? Should regedit be copied to the ext. hd?

open regedit.exe
Highlight HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE (note: this is important, if you do not highlight this the next step will not work)
goto file - load hive...
Now select your old registry file which should be in the image file at \windows\system32\config\software
It will ask you what to name it, if you don't understand, just type "test".
Now navigate to the following:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\test\(the registry location(s) from the MS KB I linked earlier)
Export the keys.
Exit regedit

Now double click the exported .reg files to merge with your current registry. Reboot and test.

For future reference:
