I've seen the [new] Office XP. How would you program menus and toolbars like that (with the blue accent and how it raises off the bar and creates a shadow, etc.)? I heard that there is new sort MSOffice programming language derivative of C++, or a SDK, or something... Anything anybody can tell me about this? I know it is probably lots of code, but just an answer would help.

I don't know about XP but the previous versions of Office were COM based. MSDN documents what I think they call the <Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.. > Object Model for each of the applications. My first guess would be that this basic COM approach has not changed with Office XP.
