Does anyone know how to get MS Messenger to run through a cisco running NAT ? It seems the source IP address is embedded at the application layer so when the destination tries to reply it tries to send to a non existant address.
The MS web site says you need a UPnP router, which Cisco IOS doesnt seem to conform to yet. They mention this at their web site but dont seem to offer an alternative....

Any help appreciated :)

Not sure what you mean, I use MSN Messenger, ICQ, AOL IM all through IOS NAT using the overload command.. It works fine for me, I do have a few problems here and there when doing File X-fers though..

More info please.

I run MSN through a NAT connection on a Cisco 1720 and have never had a problem!
