Regseeker finds a lot of entries like this with error file/path does not exist. OK to delete? (or, what are they for?)

Example:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\SetupX\Cert\MACHINE2.CAT]
"C:\WINDOWS\INF\MACHINE2.INF"="C:\\WINDOWS\\SYSTEM\\CatRoot\\{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE}\\machine2.cat"

The INF file is present but the CAT file isn't. I'd like to delete all that aren't needed.

If you are using Regseeker to clean the registry and it says it is an obsolete entry or the path does not exist or it is not used, then I don't see why you can't delete it.
Sometimes files are stored in the registry and not cleaned out completed when things are uninstalled. If you are going to remove the entry, first make a backup of your registry so that if you had to go to safe mode and revert back to it, you can, should it cause your system to have a problem. If that is something you don't want to worry about, then leave the entry alone.
