Appears that after visiting some web site, my IE was modified. It now has a new toolbar underneath the Address Bar. This new Toolbar is listed as Accessories under the View|Toolbars of the main menu bar.
This Accessories toolbar has an empty search field area for keywords and rectangular hyper buttons for News, MP3 Music, Gambling, Entertainment, Books, Computer, Education and Travel. Each button takes me to a page sponsored by LOP.Com >>> that displays lists of links to sites related to the button clicked on. The address for each page generated by each button is always the following.
hyper button name here">&src=toolbar.
Also, another toolbar is started at the botom of the browser in a seperate session referencing THKO.Com. It has box shaped buttons and pull down spin arrows to help you jump to web sites for sex, casino, travel, make money, investing, credit, careers, insurance. Windows Task Manager lists it as the following:
When I start IE now, it always defaults to the home page
I clicked on Tools|Internet Options... and changed the default Home Page then clicked Apply but IE desn't save this change. My next start takes me to the same web site:
I removed IE 5.5 using Add and Remove Programs, I use Win95, down loaded and reinstalled IE 5.5 from the official MS IE internet site and still have same problem.

Q: Where is this code ?
Q: How do I find it ?
Q: how do I prevent it from starting ?

I have gone to Find Files and searched for Modified Files based on dates but found nothing. Show All Files is turned on.
I have Googled the THKO keyword but get unhelpfull stuff.

Your browser has been hi-jacked!

Download and install Spybot from and run this great little program and it will remove the offending registry entries for you.

Problem should then be solved.
