is MSC supported on ipo 500 and where can i get info on this, customer hasd xchge 07 with communicator. and wants to use communicator instead of phone manager

Exchange 2007 doesn't run Microsoft Office Communicator (MOC). That would require an Office Communications Server (OCS).

MOC would not provide anywhere near the level of control over the phone that Phone Manager does. That being said OCS can integrate with IP Office.

have you install this ?,so i would meed zeacom device, for the OCS to sync.

okay, after reading on the OCS, it is compatable with SIP,Voip phones IPO 5.0 can use SIP is there way i can make it wrk on SIP lic.

I rather use Phone MGR PRO, but customer bought OCS and now wants it to work with IPO, can i get any more advice.

he has installed the OCS client on the 4 user so far and now the phone MGR lite is not working.

not familiar with OCS any help thanks

No. OCS will not integrate fully with SIP licenses only although you can integrate the MOC via OCS as a single line set without presence and such.

The Zeacom integration solution is the only way to fully integrate at this point.

ok, what you have attach is VERY helpfull but i think i got confused..

i am trying to understand it..

When making in outside or inside call they will use OCS client or they will have to use the Zaecom client..

And i am trying to understand it like PH MGR..
thanks

Zeacom is just the integration between OCS and IP Office. Converts IP Office data into OCS data. The client you would use, is the Microsoft Office Communicator (MOC). But MOC is a phone in and of itself much like Phone Manager in Soft Phone mode. While it can have very basic control over your phone I would never position it against Phone Manager.

It would help to know what the client is looking for out of the MOC client and if MOC can even do it to begin with.

he is trying to replace ph mgr for the OCS,

OCS will make the call from outlook now, but it is greyed out

i am thinking while i am writhing.
cant we just disable OCS calling feature and just use ph mgr to call out and just use OCS, presence, file share et,etc, etc, for its purpose

and if so how can i do it.
Customer has installed OCS on the user and ph mgr wont work now. like i told him the OCS took control to make an outside call vrse the ph mgr.

he is okay if we could make ph mgr work again and than they will use OCS for its purpose, just not calls

So PM not generate a call or PM can not communicate with Outlook anymore so you have no PM popups and can not dial directly from outlook??

Is the IPO tapi driver selected for a dialout? When you try to call using a contact you can select which device to use.

If the voice features are grayed out I would think they have OCS deployed without voice services.
