I have a two node MS 2003 Cluster and need to change the default gateway because of network changes. Can someone please give me a detailed step by step guide what I need to do to make this happen? I am Server 2003 proficient, but a little lacking at Clustering.

Thanks in advance.....

never had to do this myself, its possible you can just change the node ip address and it will work fine.

To be safe thou i would change the passive node then fail the resources across to it then change the previous active node and fail it back if needed.

To fail it over, in cmd type cluadmin .

Select each group and right click move group until the owner lists each group as running on the other node.

If its an exchange cluster i tend to use take offline prior to moving as i believe its a lot safer.

Just change the gateway on each physical node, Win2003 doesn't require a re-boot. Changing the gateway would not affect cluster resources (just Network Communication).

This change doesn't require and reconfiguration of the cluster or it's resources.

Should not have to fail over cluster, there will just be a small downtime of the network (time it takes the network to configure the new gateway, time it takes you to reconfigure the gateway on your servers).
