I have some XP PC's that we are going to be rolling out to our new AD environment.

The problem that I am having is when my end users login to AD and then go to use word 97, all is fine until they go to exit.

At that point the system wants to create their normal.dot and I've tried everything I can think of to fix this before we make the image.

Right now we're thinking that there must be a policy of some sort that would be able to affect this from the AD side of things.

So, if you know of an Office 97 policy that works in AD, please let me know.

Thanks for any help that you can provide!

tyrant, I am somewhat confused. Isn't NORMAL.DOT usually there as part of the Word '97 install. Unless they are modifying it, I would check the permissions to ensure that they have read/write access to that file.
