I had Microsoft Office XP installed. Opened access for pretty much first time since install. Tried to create table by using wizard, got:

"This feature isn't installed or has been disabled. To install this feature, rerun Microsoft Office setup."

I had done a full install, but did a quick "repair installation" just in case. No avail. Installed old Microsoft Office 2000. Same problem. Installed new Office 2003 same problem.

It only seems to be access 2003. newbie2181 had the same problem posted in this forum, but there was no solution given. Uninstalling, rebooting, reinstalling etc nothing works.

How do i fix this?

I also have not been able to solve this problem. I found a site that has the functions to run most of the wizards from code, here it is:

If anyone out there knows how to run the Find Duplicates Wizard from code, I have been unable to find that one. utnah, I hope this can help you run what you need.

Hello from Utah,

I had the same problem, so I called Microsoft directly and got the following answer:

* Install the latest JET version
* Set your security setting to LOW

Here is the easiest way to install the latest jet version:
* Open IE and go to the following website: * Click "Scan for updates"
* Under the Windows XP tab, select the JET lineitem.
* Install it and reboot.

Setting your security settings to low is optional, but recommended by Microsoft.

Davyator :)

P.S. This worked for me.

I had already found the MS Jet service pack solution on the net. I have to say, unfortunately this did not work for me.

However, what did work for me, was the seemingly be-all-and-end-all of Windows-computer based problems:

Backup-format-reinstall. Seems to work every time..

Arsing about with VB macro code to run a very simple wizard isnt worth it, but thanks for the suggestions. Its not possible for a programmer to produce database apps that need macros where a single click sufficed.

Best of luck, and if anyone finds a solution thats slightly less drastic and isnt the MS Jet Service Pack one, let us all know here.

No luck here either with the service pack update, thanks for the suggestion though.

I have been trying to fix this problem for weeks! The jet download worked perfectly. Many thanks for the help. I was sure that I was not the only one who had this problem, but Tek-Tips was the only place that I found the solution.

Thanks agein!!!!!!!!!!!!

The JET lineitem update did not fix my problem either, however I'm running Access2002. I need to get the wizards to run and have had no luck. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Just won't work.

I did download the JET patch and installed it after I reinstalled OFFICE XP. I had help from my IT guys and developers... they couldn't figure it out either... but we're a FoxPro shop anyway... just another reason we don't like Access.
