Hi,

I have some questions in Cognos.
a)How do I import a table from Access to Cognos?
b)How to join two or more tables manually? Can anyone provide the info in detail. I am new to COGNOS

I am using Cognos Impromtu 6.0. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Hi,

If you are using Impromptu, you would need to create a 'catalog' that has the necessary information on where the table are located and how they are related to each other and so on.

So, to start with you would need to create a catalog, before which you would have to define the database connection parameters from Impromptu.

I'd suggest 'Discovering Impromptu' as the PDF file that you would want to read. It should be available as a part of your installation.

I suggest that before you struggle around read some of the PDF files which came with the software. Esspecially the one starting 'Discovering ...' give you a lot of information in a nutschell
