Is it possible to run MS Access Reports on the web from a web form? that is, without converting it into HTML (which leaves out all the formatting of the report).
And I need to be able to pass parameters to the report to run it according to the user's input -- it has to be dynamic,

I know this is possible to to using Crystal Reports, but I'm already good at making great reports in MS Access and so there would be no learning curve.

If you import the Microsoft Access object library you will have access to all the Access functions. Running the report wouldn't be a problem, but displaying it to the user would prove a little more difficult as they would have to download the whole access file.

I really wouldn't recommend using Access for reporting purposes. You will find that you should pick up the basics of Crystal Reports fairly easily if you have experience with access reports as the design of them can be fairly similar.

I guess you're right about that. I have used Crystal Reports before with an application in VB6 but what I don't like about it its report designer -- it's pretty funky in comparison to the Access Report designer. I guess it's all a matter of taste though.

What I need is a type of report that is dynamic that I can supply parameters to and when the report is run it can be sent as an attachment via email on a web app.

Other options would be to create a .NET page that outputted a HTML report if you don't like Crystal Reports or you could create an Excel file.

You could use Access snapshot viewer.

Create reports that are viewed the viewer then email them as attachment.

But the recipient needs a copy of the viewer. Easily downloaded from MS.

You of course need to import Access object library.
