I have been using MS Access 2000 for a long time. All of a sudden, whenever I try to use a form wizard, combo box wizard, create table wizard, etc.. MS Access crashes and gives me an error. I tried repairing from the Access CD, removed Access and re-installed and the same thing happens.. any help is appreciated in getting this fixed!

First thing that comes to mind, especially after having removed Access and re-installing it, is that the problem is with Windows, and not with Access. I suspect from the nature of wizards that they require a good deal of memory, and this may be where the problem lies.

You don't say whether these problems all occur in one DB or in multiple DBs. If only one DB is involved it may be corrupted; I'd take a copy of the DB to another machine running the same version of Access and see if the problem can be reproduced.

Thanks for the reply.

The problem is with MS Access on one PC only. It happens with all databases, even if I create a new blank database.

When any wizard is used, Access crashes. I have had MS Access installed and working perfectly on this PC for many years, it is a newly developed problem.

I have opened the same databases on another PC and it all works fine. The problem is with the desktop I use mostly...

Sounds like it runs out of memory, or maybe a problem with a .DLL file. The .DLL problem frequently happens when a .DLL file installed by a newly added program overwrites an existing .DLL file. This much I know, but I have no idea how to find out which file was overwritten, if that's the problem. In either case I suspect you need some help from someone who's an pro dealing with Windows and system generated problems. Mabe you've got someone on staff, or can post something in the appropriate Desktop Software forum on this site.

Good luck!
