Above error occurred after moving from WIN95 to WIN98 on client PC - MS Access 2.0 application attaches to Btrieve files and was working fine under WIN95 - After moving to WIN98, I received the error (Btrieve - missing WBTRCALL.DLL) - WBTRCALL.DLL exists & appears to be in the same location as before on client PC - Application is on a NOVELL 3 network - What am I missing?

The opportunity to get over it? Replace / upgrade mentioned 'components' (a.k.a. Ms. A. ver 2.0 and BTRieve and ...).

NOT 'just kidding'. But is the BTRieve API call still working (to start the BTRieve engine)?

And - oh by hte way, the MAIN difference between 95 & 98 is that 98 id "fully 32 bit" and doesn't support 16 bit apps in the same manner, so it MAY be a versioning issue w/ BTRieve and the dlls.

MichaelRed-

I've seen you're posts for a long time, so I know that you know what you're talking about. 8O) I don't know a heck of alot about BTRieve, but could it also be that the WBTRCALL.DLL that does exist, might need to be registered in the registry?

I could be way off the wall on this one. *shrugs*

Of course, it is possible - but the older versions of Pervasive software do not use the registry, or even need to be registered, while (AFAIK) the newer versions do the registgration during install, so these would only be a problem if the install is 'impropper'.

Thanks.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking about- improper installs (like just copying all the files from one PC to the other). I haven't worked much with Novell stuff

Thanks for the rest of the info.
