MRxSmb 3034 Warning

Hi,

I have a Windows 2000 Server which has numerous of the above warnings. Here is some more info from the Windows 2000 System Log:

Event ID: 3034
Type: Warning

Error Text:

The redirector was unable to initialize security context or query context attributes.

Any ideas on a) what is causing this and b) how it can be fixed?

I have looked on the MS website and it seems to indicate that it could be a network issue but connectivity is fine and all network seetings (DNS, TCP/IP) etc are correct.

When did it start ? Did you install some software that caused this ?
I have a vague memory of seeing this before and I'm fairly sure that a re-install of the SP did the trick.

Will,

It has recently come to light because of a problem with our backup software. Prior to this the backup was working fine. I'll try reinstalling SP3 (or maybe upgrade to SP4)

check dns to see if you have the correct entries listed for your server - this could happen if two computers accidentally register the same ip
