I haven't worked on MQ Series but to my best of my known knowledge I am replying to this.
MQ Serires is a technology used for communicating with the MAINFRAMES. The technology is Queing your request to the MAINFRAMES & getting back your results. In Informatica it is used when the VSAM files in MAINFRAMES are the sources in MAPPINGS.
