I have a file on my computer that is already Mpeg-2 and need to get it into AVI format for my programs that I can make DVD's with. The DVD programs can't seem to import the Mpeg-2 files, they want AVI. I've tried the DVD2AVI program, and it saves out an AVI file for me, but without the audio in the file??? The audio is being split off into its own file, but why? I just need an AVI version of the Mpeg-2 file. It is driving me crazy. Please help. Thank you very much.

Thank you for the suggestion, but I just downloaded and tried the VirtualDub, and it can't open the Mpeg-2 file. Any other suggestions?

take the avi and wave file you get from dvd2avi and combine and compress it with virtualdub. i have done this before and it works pretty well.
