I have a file that I need to unzip in a folder on my web site. Tried a couple of ways, to no avail. Need some instructions, anyone?
Thanks,
Dave

The web server will have to have some kind of unzip utility available for you to use on the server, if you want to do it that way.

If someone has written a PHP unzip utility, yes.

Hope this helps,
Dan

The answers you get are only as good as the information you give!

Is it a windows server, or a unix/linux one? Are you able to sign on to the server (eg. using telnet), or do you only have ftp access?

At the end of the day, you may find it easier to unzip the file on your PC and then upload the unpacked files to your web server.

Windows server, not sure about Telnet, but will find out. What I have is a appointment app and the instrution say to unzip it to a folder on the web server.
Thanks,
Dave

You could always unzip it locally and then do the upload.

Here are the instructions:
How to use:

extract the contents of the zip file into a folder on your webserver, make sure to give IUSR
write permission on "db" directory.

Configuration variables are located in the config.asp file.
Thanks
Dave

Dave,

Just unzip them and then upload. When it says to extract them to the directory, it just means place them in this directory after they are unzipped, how they get there doesn't matter.

make sure to give IUSR write permission on "db" directory.

Just upload the files and follow the instructions, you don't need to worry about the permissions.

Is that all you do is monitor these lists? LOL
