Dear all,

Is this possible?

I wish to move users from my parent domain i.e. parent.com to my child domain i.e. child.com.

When choosing the move function in Active Directory, I am not able to see the child domain within the list, therefore not able to move the user.

Any thoughts?

Thanks and kind regards

Andy

Guyvernews,

You have to use the Movetree command to do this. Type Movetree /? at a DOS prompt to see the correct syntax.

Have fun,

Thanks for replying,

But what is "movetree"? I cannot seem to find it nor heard of it in the Active Directory context.

Any other ideas people?

Thanks

Andy

Guyvernews,

This tools can be found on the Windows 2000 Server compact disc in the \SUPPORT\TOOLS folder

Are you trying to run the command from the DC that holds the RID master role in the source domain? If not you will receive an error.

Is the destination domain in Native mode?
