Moving the Point of Rotation?

I've got an egg image, (with transparency around the egg), and I've animated it to rock on its base - which it is not doing because it is rotating about a point in the centre of the egg image.

What I want it to do is rotate about a point located at the base of the egg.

I'm pretty sure I've done this sort of thing before, but I can't remember how to set it up.

I therefore need to move the point about which my egg will be rotated.

I've tried moving the anchor point with the pan behind tool but the anchor point then stays in that position in the scene, rather than staying at the base of the egg image.

Any ideas?

(P.S. this applies to AECS2.)

same in AECS2. You're doing it right.

1. Move anchor point to bottom of egg.

2. Position Egg in comp

3. Animate rotation (around anchor point)

ALT version:

1. Make a Null Object at the base of the egg.

2. Parent Egg to Null

3. Rotate Null

Thanks, it worked on the third attempt. And I did not need to reanimate. Thank goodness I was going in the right direction after all.
