Moving Shadow Copies

I have shadow copies on a volume that I would like to remove. Is there a way to move the existing historical shadow copies to a new drive letter, and reconfigure shadow copies to make new ones in that location, or do I have to blow the old ones away and start over?

I'm almost certain that you can't move them you have to turn VSS off and them on again but specify the new storage location.

Ok, so we'd lose the historical data then, right? Well it'd be there, but if i turn it off, then turn it on in a new spot, we'd be starting from scratch.

I haven't done it for a while but i'm pretty sure when you turn the service off it deletes all of the old shadow copies.
