Moving OE 5.5 to OE 6

I am trying to migrate everything from a OE5.5 on a Win98 computer to an OE 6 on a Win XP computer.

Everyting moves over except the messages. The folders are there but there is nothing in them.

I have tried changing store folders, same problem.

When I look at the store folders the dbx files are there, and they are the correct size (same as old compuer).

Suggestions appreciated.

Are you trying to access the old mail store directly? Try using OE's import function to import the messages into your new store.

I have tried doing an import on the items; messages, accounts, address book (but no rules, sigs etc).

The addressbook, accounts & folders come over. But the folders are empty. When I look at them in the OE folder (found under maintenance) the folders show the correct kb size as the old computer. But there is nothing in them when I go to OE.

Before we go too deep into this, let's try an easy one..... First, with the inbox open, check View, Current View - make sure 'show all messages' is selected.

I had a similar problem. You have to export your address book and message from your old OE program and import same into your new OE. Of course you will have to copy your exported address book and messages to your new machine. Hope this helps.
