We have a location that is having problems moving IP phones from one location to another. The resolution is that they have to log out the phone and then log it back in after moving. We have other location where we do not have to perform this. When the phone is moved (without logging it out) the phone will come up at the new location and look normal but will not have tone. If you dial from the phone it will complete the call but there is no audio. The things we have checked already:

-Phone remains in the same VLAN
-System Parameters IP are set the same as our other locations (with the exception of IP DTMF Transmission Mode is set to rtp-payload)
-IP mapping is set to VLAN 1
-Statusing the station shows that it is getting the same audio source as when working.
-Changing hairpinning on the set made no difference

This is on a S8300 (no LSP). If you can point me in the right direction or give me some other things to check it would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry - not VLAN 1 - Network Region 1.

have you clear out the original settings on the phone?

Some times it helps to do it so the phone can start to look for the DHCP server and FTTP server as the Call Server.

What we want the phone to do, and we have this working other locations, is to be able to have a user move their phone to a new location without having to know the passwcode for logging it in and out.

Have you checked the firmware versions between the 'working' and the 'not working' phones? May need a firmware upgrade.

The problem phone is currently running the latest firmware. The phones that we have that work fine are running R2.8 We suspect there may be an issue the 2.9 firmware. We have Avaya tier 3 now looking at it.
