We need to move the global catalogue role from one DC to another. We have an exchange 2003 server on the domain. Has anyone ever done this and had problems with exchange authenticating afterwards such a move?

You can have more tham one GC on a domain. Add the new one. Wait a week, turn off GC on the old one.

You don't need to wait a week. Change one to another and leave it only one day before disabling the old one.

You must also check in the Exchange System Manager one thing, go to the server properties and check in the Directory Access Tab(something like this, I don't have one console in my front now) if the configuration of the GC is appointing to the new GC server. By default this configuration is set to automatic and your exchange would change it dynamicly, if not manually change it.

Also configure the RUS to appoint to the new Global Catalog Server.
