Hi All ,

Having had my PDC go down a while back I purchased a new machine running Win2003 and set it up as a new domain controller. When I go to join the new domain on my XP machines I lose all of the desktop settings , email and so on that I had when logging into the original domain. There has to be an easy way to join the new domain and keep all of my current desktop settings. Any ideas ?

ok there are a few ways of doing this but it depends on a few things.

the basic way is to have you copy all your old files to the new profile on your local machine (if you are not using roaming profiles)
what you will be looking for on your local machine is the following:
.pst (this is your outlook mail)
.pab (this is your personal address book)
your username folder located (C:\Documents and Settings)

P.S. you will need to be logged in as local machine administrator for this to work.
