Hi,

I've got an Exchange 5.5 box that's been having
hardware problems. I need to move it to a new box. What's
the best way to go about this? The boxes have different
hardware.

HI!

I would first try to clone the server to an IDE hard-disk(s), and put it on the new server, then install correct drivers.
If that doesn't work because of blue screens, then you have several other options.
Search this forum for previous messages about that.

install it as a bdc in the domain. unplug it from the network. rename it the same as the old server. install exchange and SP it. Same org, site and server name as old one. Then restore database.

Just stop services on the first server. Rename it to Bob.
Name other server to what the first one is named. Then install with same Org and Site. Then once it is up you can copy over dir.edb, pub.edb and priv.edb and your pretty much done. Dan
