Moving EX 5.5 on 2k DC to Member 2k

Our company has changed it name from oldname.com to newname.com. I want to move existing Exchange 5.5 - 2k DC to 2k member and want to keep existing setting on clients. What is the best way. Have looked at alot of posts, but cannot find an answer. I know that i can change new server name to old, but it would require demoting the DC.

not really clear on what the ultimate goal is here, but for starters, how about bringing up a second DC, moving all the domain "roles" over to it, then demoting the original?

What my ultimate goal is change the email address and have the ability to still recieve emails from the old address. And here is the "kicker", I want to do it easily and quickly because time is slipping away.
