I am trying to move email and settings from one outlook to another. The oulook that I am trying to move emails from is on the secondary HD which is about to crash. It was a primamry HD before and I bought a new HD and made the old one a seconday so I could move the files. How can I move all emails and all settings from one outlook to another?

Thanks

I don't think that you can easily move the settings. If your email is stored locally on the hard drive, it will be in a .pst file. Just search your drive for *.pst and you should find it.

If you have Windows XP Pro (not sure about the Home Version) you can use the Transfer Settings Wizard - but that may be a little over kill. I would "export" everything to a .pst file - then you can import it. In Outlook - under the File menu select Import and Export . . . then select Export to a File - then select Personal Folder File (.pst) - next select the folder you want to export - and be sure to put a checkmark in the Inculde Subfolders at the bottom of the window. Next select a name and location and there you have it.

Now you have at least two options. In your new client you can simply open the .pst file to reference all your old stuff - or you can import everything from the .pst file.

Hope the helps!

Craig.

Thanks but I can't open the old outlook anymore. Or maybe I do? Where is Outlook typically installed? On the old HD I can't just go to the desktop and click the Outlook icon to open it. It is a secondary drive so I can only view the files on it. Any ideas?

As I said, search the drive for *.pst, then follow cwbarton's instructions for importing.
